I am not sure what funeral practices were for poor African Americans around 1900-1910. I am trying to find death records for Daniel Walker in Mecklenburg County NC, Sharon Township. If there is no death certificate, I thought about checking church records (some in the family belonged to Daddy Grace's House of Prayer in Charlotte) or funeral homes in the area at the time, cementary in the vicinity. Has anyone had any luck in this area of research?
