Re: JOHNSON of Madison Co. MS
In Response To: JOHNSON of Madison Parish, La ()
This is a family in Madison Co. MS that is 'too close' to be dismissed. 1910 - MS, Madison co - ED 105
Nearby is the William Harry family (with daughter Lulu).
From here on, it gets fuzzy. No concrete proof that these are the same people. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ In 1880 Marion county (Red Creek and Wolf River), there was a Charles Hary and "wife" Nora with children: Emma, Henry Peaters, Robert Peaters, Floyd Peaters, Sabur(?), Richard, Edmon, Willie, Leue?, and Mary. The children don'texactly match those in 1900, except for Willie and Lueu (lula?). No sign of Norris, who may have been the baby (b. ca 1979). Also, the indexed age for Charles was obviously not acurate. It was too young to be the parent of all the children. Could it be an enumerator error? Could he have been the son instead? Further confusing is the 1870 census that has a Charles and Norah HARRIS! This Charles' age is more in line with Norah's, but the surname has changed OR may also be an enumerator error.
Note: The same enumerator got the Harry surname correct several families before Charles and Norah. A Viney and Celia Harry are living together in Marion co., MS. Harry marriages in Marion co. MS:
