She is descended from Susan. I believe she was told by a relative that Joseph was Alice and Fannie's father. There is one thing that I found which certainly supports her belief that William Morton wasn't their father -- the 1880 Census states that they were his step-children.

I've been attempting to help her locate information about the Morton and Harris descendants. I'm not descended from this family. I'm sure she would love to hear from a cousin!
