The oldest Arkansas records state the place of birth as Africa and with Swopes cousins this is repeated as Ethiopia. My current Swopes cousins have features of that area. Victoria Wright-Wakefield although born in FLA in 1844. It is said she has African roots by oral history and the family Bible. on some records list very old when living with family birthplace as Africa.
