Nelson County, Virginia is one of those counties in which there still exists a Freedmen's Bureau Cohabitation List, it is part of Record Group 105 and is currently being filmed in DC. I do have a copy, unfortunately I don't see a listing for anyone with the surname MOSS or MORSE ( I also looked for a first name Barban since it is unusual). The record is identified as:

A Record of Freemen & Women who have been registered in the County Clerks Office as man & wife - since the surrender. It begins on July 24 1865 and ends on August 1865 and ends July 1866. There are entries for 643 couples.

List name of Husband, Name of Wife, no. of entry, when married, where married (on farm of/premises of)
example:
Jacob Napier to Aggy Holmes; no. 616, married 1830; Dana Jacobs

Whether Dana Jacobs owned both Jacob and or Aggy or just one it is impossible to tell.

At the LVA there is a copy of a marriage liscense book for Nelson County (maybe the original is in the County), but information about Free Blacks are included.
