Thanks for your response and the information. I know the link to the UVI Libraries and keep the info for, hopefully, a future trip to the USVI.

As to the USVI census, a part of it has already been digitized and can be found on http://ddd.dda.dk/d4/vi/forside.htm - thanks to your colleague and others. This link covers of course only the time up to the sale of the islands to the US (1917). The heading says Census St. Croix, but it covers also St. Thomas.

This Danish on-line archive (www.dda.dk) is quite good and could be of interest to members of the forum searching for ancestors in Denmark. It is already very expansive and continuously new data is added.
