Re: Census Search for Joe French - AL>FL

Hello,

Well, if its helps you fell better, I could not find my great great grandfather in 1870 either. It was a better pill to swallow, because I believe that his mother and father were still alive at that time and may have been living with him or near him. And what is so crazy about it all is that, I found his oldest daughter and oldest son in 1870 but not him. I have searched a million times for him in 1870 on ancestry.com and I have searched for him with a fine tooth comb by going through the actual microfilm at the local library. So, I can understand your pain. I believe that my ggrandfather was simply missed. However, I did fid him on a 1871 tax document and that did ease the pain a little. So, you may have to search other documents, such as tax records to find him. It may be that he was just missed buy the census taker.

Tony
