Hello all,
I am new to the group and would like to introduce myself.
I am researching my husband's family in South Carolina. My census
research has enabled me to trace back from 1930 to 1870 with
certainty. At this point I become stuck with the 1860 Slave
schedules and not having slave owner documentation for validation.
here is what I believe to be true:
Frances (b. abt 1836) & Willis (b. abt 1822)Marshall
- daughter Julia Ann (b. abt 1869)husband George Marshall (of SC)
- daughter Maggie (b. 1902) husband Charles Jacobs (of FL)
- Mary Lee (my mother-in-law) born in Florida
All Marshalls born in South Carolina. I believe that Frances &
Willis were owned by Samuel S. Marshall. They also had other
children, Calister, Hannah, Margaret, Thomas to name a few. The
names I had originally been given from family history could have
been nicknames - Narcissy, Carrie, Lucindy.
If anyone has any information on Abbeville SC, the Marshalls, or any
of these names. Please let me know.
Thanks.
Nancy Baker
