I am trying to locate historical maps to use in my searches of census and slave data, and the only source i have located is this 1895 US Atlas http://www.livgenmi.com/1895/ and while it is good i am looking for detailed maps like street maps or sanborn maps that show what structures were where at 10 year periods in time. So that i can put people in time and place spatially

i know i can get the sanborn maps for specific areas but you usually have to be in that area to locate them (from my days doing environmental research). I'm not sure sanborn goes back to 1850, and the coverage out in the counties was never great.

I am looking at Giles, Humphreys, Counties Tennessee, Perry County, Alabama.
