Hello Shirese,

I found Effie Johnson in 1900 living with Howard Pearl in Red Lick, Jefferson County, Miss. She is 25, born 1975. And it states that she is a Hireland and it also states that she is Divorced. There is also two children living with them and they are Nancy Shorter age 7 and William Shorter age 2. It states that Nancy and William are boarding. For some reason it does not state what relationship there is between Howard and Effie.

In 1880 there are about 12 Effie Johnson's in Miss. I would need to know a name of a brother or sister or a parent in order to determine which one is her.

The only Howard Pearl I found in 1880 was a Howard Pearl born in Brandywine, Claiborne County, MS. However this Howard Pearl was born in 1862. So the date of birth is off, however this may still be him.

I could not find a Effie Pearl in any census record at all.
