I am researching the PEARL and SHORTER family of Shelby, Mississippi. I am specifically looking for descendants of Effie SHORTER who later became Effie PEARL. She was born about 1875 in the Mississippi Delta. She married Howard PEARL and he was born about 1871. There is a possibility that her maiden name was JOHNSON.
