Re: Henry C. Thompson
In Response To: Re: Henry C. Thompson ()
Hi Denise, no my boyfriend did not know that he had african in him. The reason that we know that Henry C. is is ancestor is by having his military pins. He was the only henry c. found on the military census, and the only one from family stories that lived in Erie Pa. The census confirmed that. Rodger, (my boyfriend) said that his grandfather told his father only one thing about the family, and that was that there was indian. Rodger said that he had seen only a few photographs of his grandfather when he was a kid,and only vaguely remembers him... and said that John Lee was dark complected. The california Death index has John Lee's birth date as jan 1877, that too would agree with the census record for 1900. Tomorrow I will be sending off for John Lee's death certificate, that should take about a month to get from California. And, I had just put in for Henry C's military information from the national archieves. I don't know how long that one will take.
Thank you for your help! Rodger use to roll his eyes at me with how much time I would put into this-once I get on a roll...now he understands, and now he is very interested! I have a sense of pride for him! He is so anxious to find out if there was a previous marriage, and if he still may have relatives back east. He would love to be able to get in touch with them!
