What results did you find when you ordered the certificate from Nash county?
: Dear AfriGeneas folks,
: Could you give me some advice on a marriage license?
: My parents were married preceeding the birth of my oldest
: sister, who was born in 1936.
: Looking at my oldest(now deceased)sister's birth certificate,my
: father was about 24 at this time, and my mother about 23. They
: both were Southern Nash County residence at that time. He is
: listed as a
: farmer and my mother as a housekeeper.
: I've asked my older relatives and nobody can give me a specific
: date for the marriage, they only can remember that there was a
: marriage and it took place sometime before 1936.
: Were bond marriages still going on in the 1930's? If so, would
: this marriage only be recorded in a church book, and not on
: any county records in the 30's. Basically, I was trying to find the
: actual date. How many different family documents would contain
: the
: wedding date?
: I only know that it would have taken place somewhere in Nash
: County,
: and in the Manninings Township area of Nashville or Spring Hope,
: in Eastern North Carolina.
