Re: Winston Family -Dekalb County Alabama

Sorry I have not gotten back to you but I was not able to take the time to get on the site. i have been doing this at lunch at work and have had no time. My internet is hooked up at home now so I can do this at home.I need to change my e-mail to denesedwalters@hotmail.com
I heard from a women in Valleyhead who found reference to a slave given to William O when he was a boy. Mary Anderson whi married Edward Tutwiler wrote a book and in it she talks about a slaveby the name of Uncle John who belonged to William O. I believe he might be Jack because you know people interchanged those names all the time. I am wondering if he was Albert's father because he would have been to old to be Albert. The lady who wrote me said that Albert could have been away working on the rr in 1860-1870. The Winston's were very big in the railroad. I am going to see her Sat. and we are going to compare notes and maybe go to the cemeteries and the Winston Place. I really need to find the slave records of William O's parents. I think thst will clear up some things. Particularly if we can find which slave wa given to William.
