Yes, indeed, those are my kinfolk! "Millie, abt. 1871/TX/B/F was the sister of my Great Great Grandfather Sonny Norris and he and his wife, Sallie ROBERSON had 16 children. Millie's husbands name is a type-o, she married Asberry COLLIER on April 8, 1888 in Harrison County.
Millie's oldest and only son Ely married a White/Indian woman whose Grandfather was a Plantation owner in Hearns, TX. They'd moved to St. Louis, MO by 1914 and they had 10 children I believe. Willie married a William LACY and they had 14 children, Arella had two daughters, Gladys and Rosella and I think Azaline had only one. Gladys has passed on now but, Rosella is very much alive! Rosella is now 94 and in a nursing home in Marshall. What a beautiful and regal lady she is. I visited her for the first time in August of this year and boy did we have ourselves a good happy cry! Finding kinfolk that you never knew about is a very cleansing experience.
Millie and Asberry had one more child later, another daughter named Roxianna. Roxianna had only one child, Bernice! Bernice is now in her 70's and she's the living relative that I've been calling all day. What a time Afrigeneas has given the two of us today! I have 3 pictures of Milly but, haven't found one yet of Asberry.
The COLLIERS/LACY's are having a Family Reunion in July, 2007 and I'm trying to find as much about them as possible so that I can share the treasure!
On my Ancestral Blog there is a picture of myself and Rosella taken in August. When she was a little girl in Marshall she was working for this white lady and the woman told Rosella "why you're just too pretty for an old name like that, you should have been named for a flower." Thus, Rosella changed her name to Rosetta!
I LOVE this SITE!
