Thanks, I hadn't discovered the 1900 info yet aand it looks very likely. We need to get a few death certs to see if the dots connect, but it is direction to check out for certain. That area of MS seems to haave had a VERY shifting population.

Interestingly enough, checking the 1910 census for these "maybe siblings", there is an Alonzo Ried in Sharkey Co, 14 who is a hired worker in a Campbell household. What is especially interesting is there is a Manervy RIED, 48, there with him, also a hired worker. She would be the right age to be the mother or aunt of these Reeds. She seems not to show up in the 1900 census.
