I am looking for any information on the Winston Family and/or descendants who lived in Dekalb County Alabama. Primarily Valleyhead Alabama. I believe that they came from William O. Winston or John G. Winston. William built the Winston Place in Valleyhed. William was also a delegate to the Alabama Session on Seceding from the Union. He voted No. Both John and William were named as charter memebers of the Wills Valley Railroad. The names of my great-great grandfather and grandmother were Albert and Laura. My great-grandfather is Jimmie (or James) names we found on the listed deaths are Pearl, Beatricia, Joe, Lang and William. My grandfather was Paul. He had sisters, Geneva, Lucy, Ida, Nancy and brothers Johnnie, Henry, Arch,
We also have a connection to the Davenport family through Nancy.
