Have you tried contacting the hospital she died at? Someone would have had to admit her or there would be a "next of kin" listed on her medical records. When I tried to retrieve my dad's medical records from the various hospitals and clinics he was treated at, I was successful in only one case. That particular hospital said that their policy was to keep records for ten years, then send them to destruction or to be microfilmed, depending on...whatever.
