Re: Alexander/Beamon Families
In Response To: Alexander/Beamon Families ()
There is a Joe Beaman who may have married a Mary Baldwin [also could be Balton or Bolton].
In order to single out the right Joe or Mary, three things are needed:
When working on ancestry, we usually work from the known to the unknown. That may mean working BACK in time, initially. You usually know your parents, but may need to find THEIR parents.
The first place we usually look for answers is the death certificate, or the obituary - especially when death occured AFTER (about) 1930 - when most states had mandatory death reporting.
The next would probably be the marriage license, followed closely by birth records. Finally, the census information is available for those born BEFORE 1930.
Most modern birth and death records include (places for) the father's name and mother's maiden name. SOME county marriage records have the parent's names, but Texas records may not have that information - just the bride's maiden name.
If Joe and Mary were born AFTER 1930, the first three methods may help identify their parents.
