Re: OLEGEAN ROBISON or ROBERTSON
In Response To: Re: OLEGEAN ROBISON or ROBERTSON ()
It's 1:30am here in California and what a nice treat to come home to! Thank you Lynda.
1. Blast their hides! I think modern DC's ask the relation to the Deceased. Wouldn't it have made our lives so much simplier now. Do you think that the MARGIE Robertson that was the informant on Olegean's DC was his wife Maggie and it's just a type0?
2. It was nice to be able to print out the page for Maggie and Preston EDWARD(S) in 1930. Thank you. What is more interesting is the the PEELE family in 1920 Mt. Pleasant is it says Peele Edwards is married but, where is his wife? Is JAME A. PEELE a man or a woman? Is the name "James" without the "s" like used for a man or is the name really pronounced "Jamie" but, spelled without an "i"? Even so, what about the sex, in both places it says M"?
Margin Notes: Are they saying that Mt. Pleasant was a "Negro Town" I don't know the Mt. Pleasant area so I wonder if Jefferson Hwy. is still called that and not a numbered highway today? Must go to HeritageQuest and see if I can find the Peele family. I don' imagine that the surnames for this entire family were transcribed wrong with the exception of the HOH. Have you ever seen that before? The other similarities are uncanny. Can you please tell me what the (3) is for after Peele EDWARDS name?
The fact that the 5 children in the Peele EDWARDS household in 1920 match exactly the 5 children in the house in 1900, I'd bet gas money for the next month that they are one in the same and yes, I believe that the surname is EDWARDS.
There must have been a railroad yard nearby that employed many in the area because two of Olegean ROBERTSONs Nephews also worked for the railroad but, they lived in Harrison County while doing so?
Can't wait to hear from you. Thank You
