OLEGEAN ROBISON or ROBERTSON
In Response To: OLEGEAN ROBISON or ROBERTSON ()
Tony, You ROCK! God Bless your soul!
You know last night I BROWED the entire book of pages for Upshur County and no sight of anyone who might have been Olegean???
Then I figured, look at Titus County since that's where they were buried at. I looked again in 1900 but, when I went to it there were 146 pages and this was 2am. I probably got through 15 pages before my eyes closed.
What really made me scream is that my Great Great Grandmother Sallie ROBERTSON Norris had a daughter named BEULAH NORRIS. SHE is one of the very few of the 16 children that I've heard countless stories about, the oldest daughter but have NEVER seen her in any Census. In 1910 she has already left the house so I never see her. The only thing anyone living in the family can remember about her is that she married a man named JOE and that he was Mexican. Without a surname, BEULAH still eludes me but, when I read your GIFT OF TREASURE, I knew they were mine to CLAIM because SALLIE must have named her oldest daughter after one of her brothers child!
They were real big on keeping the same names in the family. It also the reason I believe that the parents of HENRY & ANDERSON ROBERTSON were named William and Sally. Both sons named a son WILLIAM and they both named a daughter SALLY. As the name HENRY was used twice by Sally when naming her sons and a grandson is named after Henry also.
You have made my day! Now I can go Big Game Hunting of OLAN's children AND previously I'd only found possible matches for WILLIAM, CHARLEY and EARLY!
YOU'VE given me MITCHEL as well!
Do you like Peach Cobbler? I sure wish I could bake one for you today.
On the blog that I recently started I have my 1st picture of a ROBERTSON. It's EARLY ROBERTSON with his wife and five children. There's also a picture of my Great Great Grandma Sally Robertson NORRIS in the Album named "Meet My Kinfolk".
Again, thank you so much!
