A majority of African Americans (which includes Afro-Puerto Ricans) have the L2 marker - since the largest number of slaves were brought to the New World from Bantu speaking areas.

This marker is also found in Spain and Portugal - the first slave ships - owned by the Portuguese had trading ports in Bantu language regions.
