Lattimore Tate married Ophelia Crowell in May, 1929, in Rowan County, N.C. However, the daughter Elaine was born in November, 1929. Now here's the clencher where things get kinda mysterious. It was said that Lattimore Tate died in December,1929. At that time when there were some elderly folks, it was said that his death was a mystery. Now there are not really a lot of folks with knowledge of Lattimore Tate. Yet, no death certificate was found, but all folks said that he died in 1929, months after his daughter Elaine was born.
