Anita, The name of the town or area since I think it is rural, is Harrison which is a little northeast of Chattanooga. At one time it was located in James County which no longer exists. That's part of the problem. The lands of James County were divided between Hamilton and Bradley and the records were sent Hamilton County. Just my luck because the only other county that I think this happened to was Nansemond County, VA where I am also doing research.
I am originally from Fayette County, PA. My mom said that my Mckenzies actually moved into Pittsburg from TN before moving further south to Fayette County. I also know there were/are other McKenzies living in the McKeesport area. A long time ago one of their family members said he thought this family might have been from either Al, MS or AR. Also, there is at least one other McKenzie family living in the Chattanooga area who were originally living Knoxville. My Tennesse cousins have been trying to find out if there is a connection to this family. I think they mentioned their folks migrated from GA. What are the names of your family in the Beaver County area? Did you see my email address on the webpages? I was trying to give you a clue without posting it to the message board.
