I too am looking for Heiligs from North Carolina.My grandparents were John Augustus Heilig and Maggie Jones Heilig born in N. Carolina. John was born around 1868-1870? Maggie I figure about ten years later. They had five children: Eugene Heilig, Eula C. Heilig, Jay A. Heilig, Spurgeon Heilig, and Herman Heilig. Maggie burned in a fire around the 1918's she was about forty years old. It appears John moved to Arkansas in Arkansas it appears he was married to a Nellie Heilig around the 1920's and then a Emma Heilig around the 1930's. It looks like he made have died around the 1940's.I would appreciate any information you may have to help me with these Heiligs. Please send me your email and we can exchange information.
