The White House Historical Association is seeking information on Daniel Spriggs, a long-time White House employee Spriggs died on October 18, 1897, at the age of 63, and his last known residence (according to the obituary in the Washington Post) was 19th Street (no number, no quadrant) in Washington DC. The obituary noted that he was a longtime servant at the White House, and was survived by his widow and six children.

We are interested in including Mr. Spriggs as a subject in an upcoming exhibition on White House Workers, which will open in 2008.

I hope to hear from any descendants who might be able to assist us in our research.
