Have you looked at the 2nd spelling for this surname. My stepfather Saul Deavens was from Aberdeen Ms and he relocated to St Louis Mo. There are many Deavens still in St Louis and MS. I don't know very much about that side of the family but I do know they did do a family reunion book and have a lot of information dated back to 1800's.
