You can visit the court house in Boydton, Mecklenburg County,Va. for marriage records, and you borrow microfilm from the Library of Virginia. At the library ask to borrow microfilm for marriage license's for bride and groom for Mecklenburg County, Va. If your looking for additional info.on the Slaveowning Baskerville families you can borrow the microfilm at a cost of $20.00 from the University of Virginia. The series is called Southern Antebellum Plantations. This series has extensive Baskerville family papers;several slaves lists, shoe list for their slaves, journals, account books, etc. Just tell your librarian when she calls the University of Va. be sure to ask for the microfilm pertaining to the Baskerville Family papers, Southside Virginia. I borrowed the microfilm twice;unfortunately there is so much info.on the Baskerville's and Alexander's that I always need more time.
I will look through the papers I've accumulated in search of your Robert Baskerville. Will post the information I find.
I just remembered that I met this man at our Alexander family reunion held in Southhill, Va. this summer, he wrote a book on the Baskerville families. Will get the name of that book for you as well.
