I wanted to purchase a yearbook from Biloxi, MS, so I could show my daughter what her dad looked like as a teenager. After several phone calls and letter exchanges, I was told it was impossible. This was a yearbook from 1964!! Another experience was with Kankakee, IL. My dad dropped out after the 9th grade, which is the first year of HS. But since he attended a segregated, all black school in the 30's and early 40's, there are absolutely no records. At least, that's what they emailed me. Haven't given up, tho. I'm still working on my mother's Louisiana school records from the 40's. Hope you have better luck than I did.
