First, let me thank you for your help.
I'm trying to find more on Patsey Gaillard hoping it will lead to more information on the rest of the family.
Here's what I have:
Patsey Gaillard is a sister of my great grandmother Louisa Gaillard
Patsey married Mingo Kennedy, 23 Oct 1875, East Carroll Parish, LA.
The Long Shot you gave seems like a good one. My grandfather mentioned "Pon Coo".
Mingo Jr. died in Little Rock, Arkansas.
I'm trying to determine if my Patsey is the same one in the 1920 Shreveport, Caddo Parish, LA census in the household of Foreman and Roberta Parker.
I'm trying to determine if my Patsey is the same one in the 1930 East Feliciana Parish, LA census.
I'm also trying to determine if my Patsey is the same one in the Louisiana Statewide Death Index, 1900 - 1949 Record who died at age 81 on 31 Jul 1946 with an estimated year of birth of 1865.
I don't know where her children lived in later years.
I started researching my family in 1973. I'm researching the siblings of my great grandparents. I did an association matrix, listing the names and known locations of Louisa Gaillard's siblings. I chose to search for information on Patsey. She appears to be the one with the greatest chance of a paper trail.
I've spent time researching the families of the plantation owners. It seems my family members moved to the same states as the descendants of the plantation owners. My slave ancestors may have been searching for family members who were moved during slavery. They could have been seeking out descendants of the plantation owners to get employment. Networking.
