Re: Brick Wall GRINNAGE, Tuscaloosa AL
In Response To: Re: Brick Wall GRINNAGE, Tuscaloosa AL ()
Very little know on this line. I do recall hearing my uncle, Mose Strong (Sanders, Grinnage/Grinedge) born around 1887 had gone by several surnames. He was dead before myself and my siblings were born. My dad and his twin brother were the babies of the family and didn't really know much about Mose's father.
I have only checked some census records for Tuscaloosa, AL in the 1880s and 1870's. This is an unsual surname and don't really have any real ideas on how to pursue this. His father may or may not be listed in a census. The first time I saw his name was on Mose's death certificate. I am thinking now there may have been some marriage information on a Jim Grinnage at the Tuscaloosa Courthouse. I need to check my information.
Anyway, just ONE of my brick walls. Others include Mose's maternal line, his mother Annie Sanders Dodson/Dotson Hutton (there is sometimes a Newton thrown in there), and his Grandmother, Maranda/Marandy Sanders. These are an elusive bunch of folks...
Feel free to jump in ::smile:: Any and all information, advice would be appreciated.
