I am trying to trace my family back to Sarah Timbers b. 1736 in Stafford County, VA who was listed in Heinegg's book entitled Free African Americans of VA, NC, SC, MD and DE. I know my ggg grandmother was Harriet Timbers b. 1856. Harriet's parents were Charles and Margaret Timbers b. 1830. I don't have much info on Charles. On all of the census Margaret is listed without him. She is just with the children.
Betsy Timbers b. 1842 VA
Samuel b. 184? VA
Ann Timbers b. 1843 VA
Marg Timbers b. 1848 VA
Thomas N. Timbers b. 1850 VA m. Elizabeth Beamer Dec. 29, 1881
Harriet Timbers b. 1856 VA married Robert Beaner m. Dec. 18, 1880 in Loudoun County, VA
Hannah Timbers b. 1857 VA
I know Sarah's children were Priscilla Timbers Burden b. Stafford County VA, Thomas Timbers, John Timbers and Susanna
Margaret and her children lived in Loudoun County, VA but I think Margaret was in Rappahannock first. They were always listed as free mulattos and later Black
Can anyone help me connect the dots?
