I know the frustration. Did the same you did only I stopped putting stamps on the envelope to be returned back to me. I use all these free return address lables that come to me in the mail by placing them on a envelope. Have to cut corners when doing research some way. I just decided if it's to be, someone will be courteous enough to send a negative or positive reply back. As I said before, I have received some reply's and I send a card back thanking them for their time. I also considered visiting the church sometime in the future, but if yoy think about it there are very few churches who have members or church officer's still around to help in your request. There's still that old rule--tend to your own business, say nothing that you think will hurt someone even though the person has been deceased for many years. Folks feel they won't be blessed by 'telling'.
