Granville County, NC

I am looking for people with roots in Granville County. I am researching several white families in Granville County (Gooch, Jones, Clement, Howard, O'briant, Sneed, Ragland) and I am interesting in collecting stories about enslaved people in the areas that these families lived in, mainly Fishing Creek and Tally Ho areas. I have been able to collect some information on a few black families and have names from wills and estate papers, though it is unclear if these people would have taken the surname after emancipation. I have found one family that stayed in the area of Tally Ho, Calvin Gooch and his wife Mary Latta. Calvin was enslaved as a child to Daniel Gooch (1756-1837) and was given to his daughter Hannah Gooch. After the Civil War, there are several black families living near the descendants of Daniel Gooch namely Jack Day, Bresly Day, Fraanny Mayo, Mark and Enoch Allen, Maria Thorp. I am wondering if anyone has family history on these people.
