As I told you some years ago, SAMUEL CROCKETT HARRIS was a former slave who was first married to CORNELIA WEBB in 1857, as reported by them in their Granville Co. Freedmen's Marriage Record on Aug. 30, 1866.

Since they were former slaves, they won't be in any census prior to 1870, and he appeared in the Census from 1870 to 1920 in Granville Co., NC. I don't see a death certificate for him in NC, although since this was after 1913, there should have been one if he died in that State, so it's possible he died elsewhere. His 2nd wife who he married about 1885 according to their census records, was ALICE MORTON, daughter of WILLIAM & SUSAN MORTON, also former slaves in Granville Co.
ALICE MORTON-HARRIS died in 1927, where she was listed as a widow, so apparently SAMUEL CROCKET HARRIS died prior to that time/here is the abstract:
