The record only show her mother as "C. Beverly". Delilah married Reuben Hughes in or about in/about 1874 (before black/mulattos) were listed by race, at the courthouse.

The 1870 census show Delilah (listed as white)residing with her brother Lafayette Beverly, and his wife.
