You know I have been looking at the PINKNEY name as a surname, not thinking it could have been used as just a name for a slave, such as Adam. Maybe that's the reason I have no hits at all for this name from descendants.
You posted Joyce as the surname. Now could this have been Joyce Pinkney. HHHmmm!. Now I have to try to rationalize this, rethink my notes. All of my research has been as the surname of Pinkney. Every thing I have found was Pinkney as the surname. Did somebody on the tree turn it around or did someone on a written document rewrite it a different way and the family just kept it this way--a different surname? Oh My!

Someone on one of a genealogy site suggested the name as Pinkney, no surname and she read this name in a will. Now I have to see if I can find this posting.
