: Hi Leah, : You sound like you are doing just fine - do you have marriage
: Did Canada require him to fill out some kind of papers for
: Are there church records? : Denise Hi Denise, I cannot locate a marraige record for Joseph & Mary but I have for several of their children. Records state that Joseph was born in the US but not which state. The Dept of Naturalization replied to my request for information but did not find anything. I think at that time the border was basically wide open between our countries. The Anglican church has checked their records with no sign of any "Wrinkle's" which is odd because GG Grandmother, Mary, is buried is the St. Mary's Anglican cemetary in Napier, Ontario & the story I referred to earlier, along with a transcription of the cemetary, both state that Joseph is buried with her, although the headstone bears Mary's name only. It also states that Mary played the church organ & Joseph the violin. Joseph seems to change his religion with every census: 1861 - not given (Mary - Free Church of Scotland), 1871 - Presbyterian, 1881 - Calvanistic Methodist (Mary - Presbyterian) & both buried in the Anglican cemetary. Now you have me thinking...1 child was married as Presbyterian, one Church of England, one Anglican & three Methodist. Maybe I should check the Methodist records? Where the heck were the 12 children baptised? Leah
