Interesting that she is found on the same census page in 1870 with a white farmer surnamed LONG.

Have you checked to see what birth records are available in the county for slave births? I am not familiar with Northampton County - but there are other researchers who are - I suggest you post to the slave research forum - with NORTHAMPTON in your subject line - you may get some useful pointers.

I located my enslaved ancestors through the tedious work of looking through wills and estate records and bills of sale. I found some in plantation birth records. I got help on the county genweb board too.
