Do you have a Jeff Barge in your family? I'm tracing Jeff's line. He lived in Dallas Co, AL and died there in 1946. Family lore claims he had many many children. No one knows the exact number. If you have a connection to him, then I know relatives of yours.

Jeff was born in Wilcox Co, AL circa 1870. His father was white, being George Abel Barge. His mother's name, according to his death certificate was Mary Jane. Her maiden name was unknown, but she too was born in Wilcox Co, AL. Jeff was listed in his father's household in the 1880 and 1900 censuses, so ther eis no mistake about his parentage. I'm trying to locate Jeff's children and descendants. If you have other information or clues, I'll see if they tie into this branch of the Barge family.
