Re: Washington Gray
In Response To: Re: Washington Gray ()

The Washington Gray in the earlier image was age 58 (yes old for enlistment), enlisted Sept 28, 1864 at Camp Nelson in Kentucky and died of Erysehelas on Dec 10, 1864 in the Hospital in Louisville

There is a Washington Gray (age 22 on one form age 24 on another) born in Natchez, Miss and enlisted in Company A 58 Regt. Natchez, Mississippi who is more than likely your Washington GRAY. .

Unfortunately my computer is acting wierd and slow and I am not able to attach an image. There are 24 images to his Service Record which I found on Fold3.

2nd image in the series give his age as 24, 5 feet 6 inches, Complexion Black, eyes-black, Hair - Black; born in Natchez, Miss, Carpenter. Enrolled by Capt Reynolds.
In remarks it says he was "Free and resident of Natchez, appointed Corporal Feb 24, 1864, promoted to Sergt March 28, 1864 and 1st Sgt June 1, 1865.

3rd image:
Company A 58 Regt
Age 22, 5 feet 7 inches
Complexion Brown, Eyes-black; Hair Black
Born Natchez, Field hand.
Enlisted Jan 11, 1864 for 3 years
