Re: Grandfather Ben SADLER ?

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone!
(Art, I miss you but still have a minor obsession with Martha Robinson Allen, so I still look fairly regularly...hopefully one day I shall find something else and we can resume our delightful correspondence! I hope that all is well with you!)
Dovusher - You are very welcome! Personally, I may have run out of ideas, at least for the time being, aside from applying for the death certificates and the military pension (wait until you get the death certificate for Ben Foster before doing that, though - just to be 100% certain that we have the correct Ben Foster.) And then post the results here - if they list specific birthplaces, Harriet's maiden name, names of parents, etc., I - or somebody else who reads these boards - might be able to find more.
But the lovely thing about this board is that there are so many generous people with great research skills, but all with different strengths and specialties - so I am hoping that others might have some ideas on what to do next that wouldn't occur to me. After all, I would never have found any of this if Arlene had not done such an amazing job finding everything that she did. Hopefully somebody reading this might have an idea that will provide a new direction...
Dovusher, you mentioned in a previous post that you grew up in the Baton Rouge area. Do you still live there? If not, do you get back there regularly or perhaps have a relative there who is also interested in genealogy? There are some resources located in Baton Rouge that are not digitized but might be incredibly helpful... Just let me know.
