Yes there is a very large population of Chastangs in Alabama. I have been doing research for only about a year and have obtained some information. I will try to find some information and sent it to you.

Do you know was John Jacobs' father? The name J J Chastang shows up in many census reports and the name gets confused with my Gr.gr Grandfather John B Chastang.
