Re: Grandfather Ben SADLER ?

You are very welcome, Dovusher. The Ben Pool in White Castle is not your Ben Sadler and I have looked for a Ben and Ross Sadler in White Castle but did not find him. The Arrie Pool of East Baton Rouge, Louisiana, may have been the Ara Pool that Sadler referred to on his draft registration. Sadler did not serve in WWI, but he did register for the draft during WWII, but that doesn't mean that he actually served and his obituary made no mention of military service, so he may not have served (he may have been too old by then for WWII).
I provided all that information because Afrigeneas is a collaborative enterprise with great researchers (much better than me), like Selma who asked all the right questions allowing me to tap into the information I was able to find ). I thought by providing the information I found, that it would cut the research efforts and time of the other researchers, who could find so much more than I could with the help of information I was able to find (I was also hoping that the form in which the information was provided allowed you to print off and keep the information found). It is very likely that the other researchers will be able to utilize what I have posted to find even more, which was certainly the case for Shannon, an excellent researcher, with particular skill in unearthing printed material in journals and newspapers with a Louisiana angle. Ben Sadler is missing from the 1900, 1910 and 1920 censuses, and hopefully someone will locate him on one of those censuses, but it may simply be that he was never recorded for those years. I wish you best of luck in your search.
