Re: Walker, Mumford and Patience (Southern Virgini
In Response To: Re: Walker, Mumford and Patience (Southern Virgini ()
Thanks again for encouraging me. I have poured over the records left and right, however, I didn't pour over the records for Patience Walker. Eureka. I found a Patience married to Jim Boyd in 1900 in the exact town and neighborhood where my great grandmother was born. They are living with son Earl Boyd, (daughter-in-law) P Walker and step daughter Sue Walker. Patience did have another daughter named Patience. I'm not sure whether the daughter in law is referring to Earl married to P or whether it is an error and should also read step daughter in that line. I follow them to 1910 and it goes on to provide the information that both Patience and Jim are on their second marriages and have been married about 21 years. That matches almost exactly to the time when Mumford passed away. It looks like the P daughter who I know to be Patience gets married to a Wilson Hatcher in 1920 and Patience goes to live with them at that point. So now I need to find her death certificate between 1920 and 1930 and I will have an entirely new challenge to solve.
