Re: 1930 U.S. Census 'Prisoners'
In Response To: 1930 U.S. Census 'Prisoners' ()
Hello, I wanted to respond because Grundy is a name I've heard spoken in my household for as long as I can remember. My mother told us about great grandma Grundy (although she's more like great x 4) who came to San Jose, CA as a slave with a family, and escaped from them to start a new life in San Jose. We have a picture of her that hangs in our home, and my mom says there is information about her at the San Jose Public library in their California history room. I'll have to ask about her first name and if it's known where she came from. Where are your Grundys from?
