Can I assume that every man named Granville in the same county and township are related? My third greatgrandfather's name is Granville. I don't really expect to find him and his wife Sookey to be in any of the census. But I have found I believe 3. All throughout the cenus their birthyears remain different, which I expect. Sometimes a spouse is there and sometimes not. I did find where one moved to Oklahoma widowed and worked in the coal mines.
Is it likely that one could be an uncle to my grandfather? I did find a birth notice in 1858 but his father's name was Absalom, although born in slavery, I can't find a Absalom that may be his father, although the son Granville, I have found in the 1880,1920 and 1930 census, even though the birth years average around 1855-1862.
Can't seem to locate any death notice...still looking..the other Granville was born around 1844...another Granville found was born about 1893 but later was listed as Grant. He was named after his father born abt 1868 in the 1910 census.
