Re: Writing Letter to Possible Cousin

Congratulations and thanks for the update.

From your posting it dawned on me that you and your mother were doing a form of what today, I think, is called cluster research. From the accounting of not only your mother, her parents. grandparents, etc., you included other family members and their spouses which has enabled you to make the connections you've now made.

My thinking, the more inclusive we are, that when we include collateral family, family friends and neighbors in our research efforts, the more likely we are to knock down those brick walls we each encounter.

Again, Congratulations and we're wishing you continued success in your effort.

I'm so glad that my mother and I sat and wrote down the family history together. Now there isn't anyone around to ask...the family is spread out with most not knowing each other.
My mother gave me the names of all her siblings (10 total) their children and grandchildren if known, plus aunt uncles cousins. This was done years ago and the names match with what my newly found cousin gave me. It's so important to do and takes little time.
