Amen to that.
I was just having a discussion with my granddaughter the other day about how I had named my daughters, who were born in the 1970's & '80's, more "normal" names than what was just coming out as the "common" names that we have nowadays among black families. The names of "Victoria" and "Maria" seem odd to my granddaughter, while names like "Jamilla", "Rhashad", "Myah", "Meeka", "Tanisha", which all seem common to her, were just beginning to be the normal back in the day.
