A cursory check reveals that there is a Ripley Doyle who married Laura Hall in Halifax, NC on June 22, 1924 and they had children named Albert, Thurman,
Marffat, Lorenzo, Robert and Justice. The family appears on the 1930 census in Scotland Neck, North Carolina. See familysearch.org for the information. I hope this helps your search.
